topic Failed HDD or failed Array in Servers - General

We have got this error on our server "-1779-slot 0b Driva array - replacement drive(s) detected OR previously failed drive(s) now appear to
be operational: Port 1|, box:0, bay:3 (SATA) bay: 4 (SATA) logical drive(s) disabled due to possible data loss. Action:
Resolve any issues that disabled drive. Restore data from backup if drive(s_ replaced. "

The Physical HDD are OK and working fine. So my question is. Is it that the HDD fail first and because it's failes the logical drive fails second OR is it that we need to rebuild the array that is keep failing, it has now happen twice in 2 weeks time. Or can it be any ohter issues. looking forward to some answers and suggestions.

Thanks

Hi,

Please check with the Smart storage administrator if all the physical hard drive is OK.

If the HDDs are OK then re-enable the logical drives if it is in failed status.

Also if there is no hardware issue reported, then I would recommend updating the smart array controller and HDD's firmware to the latest version.

Refer to the advisory below and If there are any uncorrectable medium errors detected in the IML, then need to perform the steps as per the advisory

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=a00104843en_us
