Check your HPMM FW version.

-if FW=1.x than you can have 15 agents max per load segment or per UPS.

-if FW=2.0.x then total=15 but 6 max per load segment

I have two R5500 XR UPS modules with HP UPS Management Modules connected via IP to a Blade enclosure. I'm running both Windows and VNware ESX 3.5 blades. I'm having a strange problem connecting version 4.5 power agents. I'm using redundant power settings and ever time I add one VMware and one Windows agent, all agents stop communicating ( I get Red X on all devices). As I remove all of one type or the other all agents start communicating ( I gat all green lights). I guess I found a bug.

Hi Matt,

Are your HPMM modules configured with static IP? or bootP?
Does Window run on a VM or on a separate blade?
If Window runs on top of VM then only install power agent for VM only.
If Windows and VM run separately on each blade then try to download and install Linux agent v 4.5.18 (for VM) and Windows agent v5.0.04 (for WIndow)

Brian

The HPMM are all static.

My windows servers are on seperate blades.

I'm using the latest 4.5 Linux version for the ESX 3.5 U4 hosts, the 5.0 won't install.
I'm using shutdown scripts to power down the VMs, no need or desire to install agents on the VMs.

I've tryed both 4.5 and 5.0 versions on the Windows blades and get the same results.
