Hi there!

In the attachement you'll find a tool that is able to receive, save and forward incoming SNMP traps. A SNMP Trap relay-tool with logging function in other words.

It's simple and 80kb in filsize. When started the problem i have is that it writes an error message continously and appends only one line "second by second":
"listenPort not ready: <10048>"

I couldn't fix the problem so I am writing in here to got a solution.

Please help!

Thanks for your time!
Uwe :)

You have to turn SNMPTRAPSERVICE OFF. Otherwise it listens on the 162 UDP port and your little program can't get on it.

You might also look at Kiwi Enterprises Syslogd

http://www.kiwisyslog.com/software_downloads.htm

It will listen for traps as well as the regular syslog stuff and can forward what it gets too.

Ron
