Hi,
thanks for your reply. Is there any documentation available on the HP site that would say that only one IP should be use?

Thanks
JS

What does HP recommends, do they recommend to use two different ip address before you team your NICs or only one IP?

This is for a production server.

Thanks
Jean Seguin
If you are teaming the NICs, then only 1 IP is required, it will be assigned to team, TCP/IP will be bound to the Teaming interface

Hi,
from your experience with teaming, do you only assign on ip address per server?

Thanks again for your help.

For us, teaming is use for redundancy and load balancing.

Jean

It depends of your needs, if you only need the server on 1 subnet then yes, ony 1 IP, if you need more than 1 then you can use the NICs without being teamed or create virtual interfaces under the team.

Right now we use teaming, but before we team the NICs we assign 1 IP address for nic1 and 1 IP for nic2. When we team the NICs we only take nic1 ip address, so in reality we only need one IP address per server if we use HP team?

The best practice would be to assign only one ip address per server right?

Thanks
JS
