Hey,

We have an ibrix x9720. We will like to ask for the capacity block, by default it comes with 1TB SAS. Because we intend to have 2 type of capacity block, one block with 7.2kRPM drives and another block with 15kRPM SAS 300GB harddisks. Will the capacity block able to support such a configuration?

Example:

1 capacity block with all 1TB SAS 7.2k harddisks

the other with all 300GB SAS 15k harddisks?

Meaning it will have 2 NAS? Possible? And possible to support the 15k harddisks?

the x9000 nas software doesnt care about hardware as long as the disks are supported the Raid software will let you create luns so you can add the space to existing or new shares. Hp has a training course on x9000 that lasts for 3 days available for remote learners

Hi jacksony,

X9700 series capacity blocks are pre-configured with "midline SAS" drives which can be 1 TB, 2 TB or 3 TB, depending on model and generation. Unfortunately it is not possible to configure X9700 with "fast SAS" drives.

What should be possible however is to build a single namespace with some X9700 (for capacity) and some X9300 or X9320 (for performance).
