Just wanna ask the default IP address and subnet mask of a brocade switch? How do I set it back to its default ip address?

You must to configure it. It haven`t default Ip adress/sunbnet mask

in 8 port Brocade connect to the serial port and conffigure (see help)

in 16 port brocade use the front display ;-)

Hi,

I remember there is a default IP address and subnet mask on the brocade switch. I just can't remember it.. I just remember the last three octet on the ip address which is 77.77.77.

Hi,

the command "configDefault" will set back the switch to the default values.

WHICH IP address????? The ethernet or Fibre Channel IP???

The ethernet default IP is based upon the WWN. You enter an IP from the switch itself or via telnet.

Hi,

The default ip address is 10.77.77.77 with 255.0.0.0 as subnetmask.
The FCP has default no ip address.
Use a RS-232 serial cable to connect to the switch to change the ip address (see the Install & Reference Guide for detailed instructions)

What's the model number of this switch?

I don't think the silkworms have serial ports.

Default Ip 10.10.10.17
setup using serial port straight through cable required (24542M will do)
9600 8,N,1 Default login admin
and password

Brocade 2800 16 port A5624A
Default IP 10.77.77.77
Setup using front panel

Note: configDefault command doesn't reset IP address

Thanks for the support, I have a silkworm 2400 and i'm looking for the switch IP, not the FC IP. And I was able to configure my switch.

The default ip address of Brocade FC switch is 10.77.77.77. The subnetmask is 255.255.255.0 ie 24 bit.

You can access the switch via Telnet terminal or Http browser.

Please note that a "configDefault" on a 2 GBit Brocade switch sold through HP will cancel any HP-specific parameters. There are download files on the CD-ROM to revert.
