Nagori:

Just keep in mind that if you EVER want to make a cluster out of that server and do NOT want to re-configure your drives... you can not upgrade to Dynamic disks sinces MSCS does not support it. (Of course, if your server is running 2000 Standard, you'd have to reconfigure anyway :o) )

Steven

Does secure path 4.0C or SAN environment support the Widnows Dynamic disk?

This server has only One HBA but we have multibus failver setup.

Is any issue with Dynamic Disk of windows 2000 and SAN or secure path

Nagori
Secure Path V4.0C does support Windows 2000 dynamic disks and here is no restriction mentioned in the documentation I have.

Hi

i dont know for sure why i had this problem however the pain it caused was big.

I had an HSG80 and the disks were dynamic and i was using secure path, one day the server blue screened when ever the disk was presented to it, if i presented to another server and "imported the foreign" disk the other server was fine.

since then i have avoided dynamic disks, if u use virtual replicator u can add new storage units to the storage pool and expand the Vdisk that way.

I just think dynamic disks are best avioded unless you have no other alternative.

Andy

I totally agree that dynamic disks should be avoided. I used the diskpart utility to grow volumes as needed.
