Hello guys,
I need your help to have a better interpretation of the Controller Event Logs of my EVA 5000
Today, as other days, I've found the voice "A physical disk drive has reported a check condition error", Corrective action code: 00.
This message already appeared some days ago, and it was a prelude for losing two disks that needed to be replaced.

What should I think? Is it a prelude for a disaster?

Thank you in advance,

Livio

This is not a disaster, but is much likely the disk will fail.

We have ISEE installed and sometimes, HP call to us and recomends that we replace the disk if a lot of these errors are reported on the same disk.

To replace the disk, first must be ungroupped, after that, the state should be not migrating. This can take a long time.

If you don't have ISEE, open a ticket in HP, eva has 3 years warranty.

Hi,

How do you go about identifying the disk that has the error. The event log gives no indication of which disk is affected.

Thanks,
Paul.

If you click in "More details" and open with Notepad the .bri file, search for "dencl_num" and "bay" in it: you'll find the progressive number and the disk enclusure of the disk affected by the event.

Bye,

Livio
