The process is the same and, yes, I would definitely flip the breakers. This prevents any power supply until the electricians declare their work one.

- close all applications
- shut down the hosts
- shutdown the EVA
- shut off the fibre channel switches
- turn the power switches on the controllers
- turn the circuit breakers on the PDUs

Hi all

We need to completely power off our EVA5000 for some essential power work. I've seen a previous post for powering down an EVA3000. Is the process exactly the same for the EVA5000? Do we need to flip the breaker switches on the back of the EVA after we have shutdown the controllers? Can anyone provide me with a best practice procedure? When should the fabric switches be shut down?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as i'm nervous about the prospect of doing this! Many thanks.

The procedure is the same, and you need to turn off the controller switch. Remember to power off the SMA/CV server also. Also, when power on the storage, apply power to the disk enclosures and wait for the sping up to finish, then power on the controllers.
