topic SCSI - FC multiplexer in HPE EVA Storage

Does anyone know how to connect an old G70 HP-UX server to our new EMC Clarion cx6000 storage? HP claims there is no more FC card for G series and there is no such device, SCSI-FC multiplexer or whatever which can do this for me. Basically I'm looking for something working as a SCSI device and FC cards controller driver.
I have not too much experience in this field so any help or idea will be appreciated. Thanks...

As I know there're NO hp-pb fibre channel mass storage cards, thus you'll not be able to connect G70 into FCMS directly.
Another solution can be to connect another server which supports FC cards, and attach G70 via, for example, NFS
Eugeny

There's nothing that's supported with the EMC storage.

Perhaps EMC has a suggestion?

Otherwise, you can look here: http://h18006.www1.hp.com/storage/saninfrastructure.html under Fibre Channel Tape Controllers, or in the used market for an HP 4/1 FC/SCSI Bridge, or from a company named "Crossroads".

The Tape Controllers are FC/SCSI muxes, but we use them in the other direction - connecting SCSI tapes to a SAN, rather than SCSI hosts to a SAN. It probably works in the other direction as well.

I remember the 4/1 bridge worked in both directions.

Otherwise, Crossroads is probably the largest SCSI/FC bridge manufacturer, so perhaps they can help you.

Good luck,

Vince

Hi,
I think this can be an expensive solution (if possible at all). And what about the HP-UX version in the G70. Is FC supported. Perhaps the best solution is to replace the G70.

Hello Laszlo,

OmniServe from TD Systems does what you are asking for.
