Any ideas when the next SAN Design Reference Guide is due to be released and if it will include any VMware ESX 3.0 support?

In case you haven't already noticed and downloaded a copy, the 29th edition is out now !

The bad news is there doesn't seem to be any ESX v.3 qualifications, v.2.5.3 appears to be the latest qualified version still.

This is a short version of HPs SPOCK-documents that shows what connection-type you should use, that I posted over at the VMware-forums:

EVA3000/5000:
ESX2.5.2/2.5.3/3.0, VCS3.028 - Custom value â 000000002200282Eâ
ESX2.5.2/2.5.3, VCS4.004 - Connection Type: â VMwareâ

EVA4000/6000/8000:
ESX2.5.2/2.5.3/3.0, XCS5.031 - Custom value "00000000220008BC"
ESX2.5.2/2.5.3/3.0, XCS5.100, XCS5.110, XCS6.000 - Connection Type: â VMwareâ

No document for ESX3 in combination with VCS4, but I think it should be "VMware" there also.
