I used to work on EMC bcv commands, for instance, symmir command, it allows you to make sync, and split. On HP "Business Copy" product which is similar to bcv, what are these equivalent commands, and is SSSU is the tool that I have to install, in order to use these commands?

Thanks!

SSSU is generally installed as part of the CommandView installation.

script sssu.txt would be:
select manager CVSERVER username=SSSUSER password=SSSUPW
select cell "EVA
ls dr_group full
set dr_group "\Data Replication\DR Group 001" nosuspend

This would list the Data Replication Group and then suspend resume the link.

Called by:
sssu.exe "file C:\SSSU_Scripts\sssu.txt"

sssu can be invoked interactively, there's usually an icon on the server CommandView has been installed.

Rob or others,

I have a few more follow-up questions.

1. where or how to execute these SSSU commands "select...", or "ls...". I know I have to read the document, but, can you please let me know quickly how to execute them, or how to go into SSSU to run these commands?

2. I used to use EMC commands "symmir" to do bcv sync and split, what the equivalent Business Copy commands to do sync and split, respectively?

Thanks!

Hi Hanry,

Looks like you have any EVA, so I would check out this manual:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00605847/c00605847.pdf

It is the reference guide for SSSU.

HTH,

Curt

I am asking EVA storage

If you know of the equivalent commands of business copy split and sync I am looking for, please let me know.

Because I know EMC bcv, so if I can start with "business copy" which is the same idea as EMC bcv, that will help me to speed up reading the document, and know EVA storage.

Hanry,

I think the commands you are looking for are
ADD SNAPSHOT, ADD MIRRORCLONE, ADD MULTISNAP. Review the syntax in the manual listed above.

Some HP Business Copy or BCV's are different than the EMC realm, so you may want to get some training before you start manipulating BC's in a production environment.

Curt
