Upgrading Command View EVA from v4.1.2.2 to v6.01

I am currently Command View EVA v4.1.2.2 on Windows 2000 Advance Server which is our management appliance.

I wish to upgrade Command View EVA to V6.01.

Am I able to upgrade directly from v4.1.2.2 to v6.01 of Command View EVA?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Danesh,

Take a look at page 15 of the release notes for CV EVA 6.01 which you can find here:

"You can upgrade to HP Command View EVA 6.0 from a previous installation of HP Command View EVA 5.0 or later. If you are running a version earlier than 5.0, you must first remove the earlier version and then install HP Command View EVA 6.0. Use Windows Add/Remove Programs to remove the earlier version."

... and the release notes for version 5 say

"You can upgrade to HP Command View EVA 5.0 from a previous installation of HP Command View EVA 3.2 or later."

So if you have the media, you can upgrade from 4 to 5, and then to 6.

I do not appear to have the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA v6.0 Media Kit on CDs which includes on-line documentation and software executables; and installation Instructions.

How may I obtain these CDs for Command View EVA v6.0?

Hi All,
I would really appreciate if anybody tells the compatibility for Command View EVA 5.0 with VCS 3020,the given compatibilty table is not shows the earlier version by VCS3028.
I am going to upgrade 3.2 to 5 version though we are running VCS 3020.

I would strongly suggest that you look to update the VCS code there were a few problems with 3020 that were fixed in later versions. Also if you update you may not be able to see the EVA once it is no longer on the supported list it will not show up or be inaccessable from CV. Make sure that the VCS and CV are current if possible.

One thing can be added,that there is a bug between the CVE 4.x and newer Webes versions with a special fix
