EVA3000 and new disk - what firmware?

Hello everybody,

i have to expand my diskgroup with 6 new FC drives. The existing disk in the group have all the firmware HP05 or HP06. My new disks have the firmware HP01 (BF0725A476) and HP02 (BF0725A692).
When i put the disks with firmware HP01 into the shelf, i got an errormessage in the Controller log as follows:
"An unrecognized Fibre Channel physical disk drive firmware revision has been detected by the physical disk drive firmware load process."
The disks are still ungrouped.
The EVA works with ACS 3028.
Can I group the disks, or should i take a Firmware Upgrade. Where can I find the firmware?
I allready open a case by HP, but for about 24 hours i heard nothing.

Hi Jochen,

You should be fine grouping the disks. That error message is just a result of the firmware being newer than that which VCS 3028 knows about.

Latest drive firmware can be downloaded from

Hi Rob,

thanks for your reply. Exactly for this link i was looking for.
But there are no software downloads or drivers for this drives.
So i guess, i will group the drives.

Hi Jochen,

Firmware for those disks is included in the Firmware Bundle - the bottom link on the page I gave you.

Looking at the files in that bundle, HP01 is the latest version for BF0725A476, HP03 is the latest for BF0725A692.

You could upgrade the BF0725A692 drives to HP03, however you'll still get the warning message in the Controller event logs...

I need the actual link for EVA3000 firmware bundle HP04 or HP03. I can not find the bundle even if I tried to search for BF0725A692 or 300588-002

Currently the disks have fw HP01
