Hi,

Just run the Firmware update CD to update the firmware on our MSA1500CS and MSA20 without much success. The CD version is FW790.2007 and although it detects the MSA20 it does not detect the MSA1500CS. If I try to update the MSA20 it reports the device is not present.

It's driving me nuts so any assistance would be great.

MSA1500cs Current version 4.94
MSA20 Current version 1.80

Chris,

I think you may be using the wrong cd to upgrade the MSA1500 and MSA20 fw. 7.90 sounds like your using smart start cd. You need to use the 5.20 fw cd for passive/active to upgrade the MSA1500 and MSA20.

7.0 is for active/active MSA1500. You may need to do some additional steps for active/active to use it.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=415600&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=415598&swLang=8&swEnvOID=1005

This will upgrade the MSA15000 and MSA20.

The Samrt Start 7.90 can be used for disk fw, some MSA20 disks are not upgradeable.

/ray
