There are so many really different commandview suites for several products (different disk arrays and libraries).

Do we talk about commandview for EVA?

The server that runs commandview need to have an FC HBA.

Hi all,

Do I have to have an HBA for the server that I install Command View on??? Can I just manage it via Ethernet when I hook the fiber channel switch into the rest of the network???

Thanks,

-Mike

Yes, you need an windows server that has an HBA zoned to the EVA. Commandview is installed on that server. Once that is done, the commandview software suite can be used as a proxy to manage the eva over an ethernet network.

sssu and SMI-S can connect to the services running on the CV server, and manage the EVA.
