To Increase VDisk Capacity - EVA4400 with Command View 8.0

What would be the correct and safe procedure to increase the maxed-out VDisk capacity on EVA4400 using Command View v8.0?

Perhaps I've been asking wrong question on Google/Yahoo but can't seem to find the answer.

Is there - I'm sure there is - a document on this? I've got 'HP StorageWorks Command View EVA user Guide (dated July 2006)' but it's so vague to me.

Your experience/advise/answer would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by "maxed-out VDisk capacity" ?

Do you need VDisks larger than 2 TeraBytes? You have to wait for a new revision of the controller firmware (and a new version of CV-EVA!) - planned release is end of june.

You need more VDisks? Again, I think, the solution is new firmware.

Thank you very much for your interest and, apologize for not being so clear.

I have a VDisk with 400 GB that I need to increase its capacity. Of course, I have more than 2 TB free space on my EVA.

Since that VDisk is in production and contains vital data files, I just wanted to make sure I will do the correct and safe way to do the task.

On the EVA it is easy:
Enter the new size in the field and press [Save changes].

Now, the problem is with the operating system and the volume setup. In some environments it is rather easy - in other just not possible that way.

So, what operating system + version and which volume management is involved?

Since I have Snapshot of this VDisk, this option is not available to me unless I delete the existing Snapshot first. But can I simply change (increase) the size "Requested" and [Save Changes] will complete the task?

This VDisk is used as a Shared and Home directory drive on HP ProLiant Storage Server utilized as a File Server. Running OS is "Windows UDS Server 2003 (64-bit)".
