topic SAN Replication in HPE EVA Storage

We are setting up a DR site for the data center that we're having. One of the HP-UX server hosts the database, SAN with raw devices for the oracle database. Is it possible to configure SAN to SAN replication with windows at the other end (DR site).

Hi Chunki,

Why do you want to do that with windows!!!

Which is your storage?

If it is EVA you may configure "continuous access"!!!

Regards,
Sooraj

Hi,

Before setup the DR pls check the oracle archive log size & time of log creation.

Then provide the RTO to customer.

Which SAN Storage your using in the DC & DR Site.

You can use the same HP-UNIX Server for DC & DR Server.

For SAN Storage to Storage Replication use the Storage continuous access or Oracle DataCart for the DC & DR Database replication.

Thanks
Vinod Kumar Yadav

Hi,
you can do this but here your question is not clear what exactly you want and what application is.

Regards,
Gokul Chandola

>> We are setting up a DR site for the data center that we're having. One of the HP-UX server hosts the database, SAN with raw devices for the oracle database. Is it possible to configure SAN to SAN replication with windows at the other end (DR site).

Physically you could make the replicated HP-UX LUN available to a Windows system at the DR site, but the windows system would *not* be able to make sens of anything off the LUN even though its a raw Oracle LUN. There's no data compatability between Oracle on HP-UX and Oracle on Windows.

You will need a HP-UX box at the DR site to read the data.

HTH

Duncan
