      <description>Such requests are sometimes listed in calls for bids. E.g. I have seen on request that the backup software must not use more than 20% of the system ressources - oh well...</description>

      <description>Saturate CPU ? perhaps not but may be cache utilisation ...&lt;BR /&gt;Anyway the customer put this as a prerequired fonctionnality. I think possibly he wants an EMC SAN that implement this and so he reduce the scope of competitors.&lt;BR /&gt;gerard</description>

      <description>Hi Gerard,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I know it can be difficult, but you should try to push back to the customer and state that their prerequisites are not necessarily relevant.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Requesting that an array has a certain amount of cache, is pointless when the way that the array uses that cache can be completely different between different vendors' arrays.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For QoS you *might* be able to do something at the SAN switch level.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Rob</description>
