When I install this card and restart the server, it lock-up the server during the BIO boot. I have Dell PE4400 running windows 2000 server, not adv.

If it is any help.

FCA2214 is a Qlogic adapter used for linux host. maybe a firmware issue...

Can you get into the system bios to make sure the FC2214 isn't attempting to use resources of another piece of hardare?

Once the card is in, I cannot go into BIOS. It locks up before it reaches the BIOS.

Disable FCA2214 boot bios, maybe trying to boot from unexisting LUN

I suggest you to perform a clear CMOS on the server, and /or change the slot where you inserted the HBA, looks like a conflict issue.
Did this controller work on another server?

Today,I find same problem on same type of system.
I've done clear CMOS, and installed the latest version of system BIOS, but problem remain the same.
Any suggestion to bypass problem ?

Try to disable hot-plug on PCI slot where the FCA2214 is/will be seated.

thank for quick response, but this is not the problem.
Because we have also disabled the hot plug, but same problem is still existing on DELL Poweregde 2450, that haven't 64 bit slots, hot plug pci, but only slots 32 bit not hot pluggable.

Any other suggestion ?
