Hi Susanta,
No one can access to EVA5000 management except me. So that I think there is some process or automatic task has generated snapshots.
But I can not find out what it is. Can you tell more detail and clear about the log. I don't find the folder as you mention.

Hi HP guru,
I have an issue with my SAN system. Some of my VDisks have snapshot, which is automatically generated. And those snapshots take significantly my storage space.
And now I want to delete permanently those snapshots. I tried with both Command View EVA5000 and SSSU command but after I deleted, the snapshot automatically appeared again.
Plz help me to delete it permanently

Hi Le,

Looks like, there must be some management operation scheduled to create snapshot again, are you running any RSM job, stop it or modify it. You may also look at the latest Trace log to see who is initiating this task Typical Location for this Log is C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Sanworks\Element Manager for StorageWorks HSV\trace. In worse case, immediately after deletion, you may stop the Command View Service in order to prevent any further management operation on to the Array, untill you find who is doing it.

Regards
Susanta

Hi Le,

Check if your problem is similar to the one discussed in the following thread -
http://run.tournament.org.il/hp-eva-bug-snapshot-removed-through-sssu-is-still-there/

In your first post, you have mentioned that -
>> Some of my VDisks have snapshot, which is automatically generated.
This means that you already have a automated task/process that creates the
snapshot at a regular basis. If Yes, then it may be possible that, the
automated task/process is automatically creating the snapshot, in case a
snapshot is deleted.

You may want to look at current configuration to find out, how the Vdisk
snapshot are currently getting automatically created and then check if it
has a logic to automatically create a snapshot, in case a snapshot is deleted.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Murali
