Hello,
We are trying to present some vmware production LUNs to a Windows SAN backup device.
For the presentation to the Windows box only, is it possible to mark the access to Read-only; without having to mark the entire disk as read-only.
I cannot find the option in the GUI, so was wondering if it is possible to do via commandline or another trick?

Thanks

Hey, I haven't seen anybody set one host's access to read-only while other hosts can read-write: I doubt it's possible.

Do you have Business Copy? If so you could set up a clone/mirror of the whole disk and then set the clone/new disk to read-only.

The EVA does not allow mixed (RW/RO) presentations.

If you are looking after VMware VCB, make sure you read the documentation and follow the instructions to disable automounting and clear the mount database.

It is still possible to kill the partition table from the disk manager (guess how I know that ;-), but hey, what in this world is perfect?
