      <title>NPIV enable - 5300B</title>

      <description>My Switch ports are enabled with NPIV Enabled.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Firmware :  v6.4.0b&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Port 03 (enabled with NPIV)&lt;BR /&gt;Port 23 (enabled with NPIV)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Iam not able to see the NPIV public in port03.But I am able to see the NPIV public in port23. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What does the attribute mean "VC Link Init              OFF" - portcfgshow 03&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>VC must be something related to Long distance connections, If you dont have any Single Mode SFP's installed on your switch or one installed on your port 23, then this can clarify,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can you share a supportshow capture?</description>

      <description>VC Link Init is not configured on any ports.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Both port03 and 23 looks good to me in the switcshow.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; 23  23   014800   id    N8   Online      FC  F-Port  1 N Port + 5 NPIV public &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  3   3   013900   id    N8   Online      FC  F-Port  1 N Port + 5 NPIV public &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;looks pretty good to me? I mean npiv public is there on port 03?&lt;BR /&gt;lots of stuff in nsshow and portshow 3 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;is the problem fixed now?</description>

I am told by Brocade Engineer to have a AG.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;my setup has only 2 fabric 1 switch each connected to the array &amp;amp; servers (Hp c7000 Blade Chassie)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do I need to have a Access Gateway?</description>

      <description>No you do not.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can you even have AG in a one-switch fabric?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The whole point (as far as I understood it) is to reduce the amount of used domain ids. If you only have one switch you can't go lower than one..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Maybe there are other benefits that I don't know about.</description>
