Hi, we have 2 4/16 san switches on both sites, we need to connect our both sites by dark fiber. pls confirm either we need conversion device on both sites or just we needed longwave SFP's.

BR, Sharjeel

It depends on the distance. For up to 10km longwave SFPs will be sufficient. For up to 35km you will need special 2Gb SFPs and Extended Fabric licenses. For greater distances you will need conversion devices and Extended Fabric licenses.

Thx for the response, distance between 2 sites is 4 km maximum, so we don't need any conversion device for it. One more thing they provided dark fiber on single cable not in pair(single mode). Our San switch is supported for single stunt sfp (GBIC)?

-SS

SPFs for 4/16 switch require a pair of fibre strands.
