topic split an CA-link during initial copy in HPE EVA Storage

Hi all,

We are forced to do an initial copy using the
# paircreate -f never -vl -g

command

But we have performance issues on the data when the disks are in pair mode during day times so do a suspend during office hours and a resync every night. ( I know about async etc, but we are intending to resolve the performance issue)

My theory is:

paircreate
SIMPLEX ==> COPY ==> PAIR
pairsplit
PAIR ==> PSUS SSUS
pairresync
PSUS SSUS ==> COPY ==> PAIR
I am sure that you can perform a pairsplit during a pairresync ( COPY status) forming a PSUS SSUS again. I am not sure this command works when doing an initial copy. I can not find a commandview manual on the web...
Can s.o. please comment on this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Not much sure but I think it is possible. Once pair is created the the same resync command is issued to sync the data which is issued at any time when we resync it after split.

But for sure the paircreate command should be executed at sometime when there are no resource crunch atleast on the disk part.

HTH,
Devender
