This may sound like a stupid question, but are there transceiver kits in the ports on the blades?

Also, are there any fibre connections? Switchshow will generally only give you info when there are devices connected to the port, otherwise it's just the port number and the status... ready/no gbic/etc.

What kind of port information are you looking for in particular?

Steven

I am new to this. The result of switchshow shows no information on Ports. It does state "No port found". I have two 10K Director class switches with two 16 port slots each. The last 4-5 lines of switchshow yields: Zoning=off switchbeacon=off role=principal mode=native state=online ....
I had tried portshow, portcfgshow and got "no Port found". However, slotshow tells me there are 2 active slots. THANKS in advance..

Yes, The switch ports have FC cables connected to them. I ran switchshow, portshow, portstatusshow, nsshow and got no information on Ports. I see zoning=off but don't think it would have anythinh with Port. The result of nsshow shows no device connected.. huh?? Something is definitely not working...
Regards;

Would it be possible to see the screen capture from the switchshow command. Could you also run the nsshow. I think it would help if we could see what you see.

Curt

Reluctantly performed to run switchreboot. Magically took care of things. Of course, I had to plan, coordinate, and complete tons of things before switchreboot.
THANKS.
