I have not used SSSU with Linux hosts, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume there is a Linux RSM Host Agent?

Off the top of my head, how about features above and beyond SSSU like: built-in error handling, mounting & unmounting of disks, and remote host command execution

To translate the anacronyms, if I have the SSSU Utility on a Linux box, don't I have all the commands to create mirror clones, dr groups etc?

Do I really need Replication Solution Manager Product on the Management Appliance as well? What does RSM give me that SSSU does not?

Easy points here! Share and Enjoy! Ian

If you are set and happy with SSSU keep on using it!

RSM adds a GUI and is very intuitive so much easier to learn for newbies.
With RSM you cannot only create CA and BC in one GUI but also cretae vdisks etc.

Cheers
Pete
You really don't need it, but RSM can do more verifications before manipulating Units. For example, validate the status of the vdisks, etc. It can also have "goto" statements based on conditions. And also, can report the startup/finish/fail of a job.

Thanks gents. Turns out the Contractors want the ability to configure a different name for the destination vdisk (add a "DR" suffix on it) and they want to do this using a GUI (Standard Command View does not provide this ability, non-SysAdmins have trouble doing things without their mouse).

Thanks for the input. Share and Enjoy! Ian
