It do not recommend connecting it like that. You do not have IO path redundancy!

I suggest you buy one or better two FC switches, 2 FC HBAs per Server and build a NSPF SAN.

See the SAN design refernce guide page 49 "Level 4: multiple fabrics and device paths (NSPOF)" on
http://www.hp.com/go/sandesign

Cheers
Peter

Hi,

I am having
- One MSA 1000 Enclosure
- Two MSA Storage Controller
- Two DL380 Servers with One HBA on each server.
- Two FC IO module

DL 380 servers is installed with Redhat Linux-4.
What is the highest redudancy i can achieve?

Under the Active-Active controller configuration. Is that possible for the two servers to access the MSA storage simulataneously connecting the server per controller ?

Thanks,
Prabhu M.K

Hi,

To have a NSPOF (Non Single Point Of Failure) you should add a second HBA to each server.
yes, you can access the MSA1000 simutaneously from both servers but obviously you must present differents Luns to each server unless you have a clustering OS.
Pasquino
