topic EVA 5000 Attention (Initialized) Error in HPE EVA Storage

Hi,

We have an EVA5000 which has an "Attention (Initialized) Error" message against a specific Virtual Disk Group. But I can't find what that error could be. The operational state is good, and the occupancy state is also good. I cannot find a specific error in the logs. I'm really looking for clues and directions to try and anlalyse and clear this error.

Thanks.

You could send the controller logs to HP and have them analyze them. You might also have run into an Internet Explorer/CV-EVA display problem.

Hi Martin,

In the past I've seen an EVA display a device in an Attention state even though there's nothing wrong... In this case, I think it was the top level Vdisks icon, would sometimes show Attention, even though there was nothing wrong with any of the Vdisks... Clicking through the various Vdisks usually cleared the warning.

It may be that you're seeing a similar problem.

Sometimes stop/starting Command View would clear the error as well...

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Rob

Sometimes hardware problems, (for example loop connections lost) are not displayed until you expand the hardware tree.

Also, if you are running a snapshot/cloning opration, the disk group will display warning, but there is no problem.
