Hello,

i've tried to setup a cluster on Windows Server 2008 x64. The hosts are connected each by 2 FC HBA's. Microsoft MPIO and HP MPIO DSM 3.01 are installed.

Actual state:

Node1: disk0 online and NTFS formatted
Node2: disk0 is presented and offline

When i check the cluster configuration i get an error stating that dsik0 does not support SCSI-3 persistent reservation.

Is there a custom type hex code for the operating system for Windows Server 2008 so that the EVA 4000 supports the SCSI-3 PR command?

Any help is apprechiated.

The problem is solved. I had to define a custom type host operating system with a hex value of "00000004198009A8" at the EVA Command View.

After that the cluster validation process finished successfully.

Still would like to know what version of Command View you are running and why possibly the Windows Server 2008 Host type specification in Command View doesn't work...

The Command View version is 8.00.01.080529

I can not choose Windows Server 2008 as host type. There is only Microsoft Windows.

I must admit that this was the first time i had to work with the Command View tool - so i don't know differences between the versions. A consultant updated the EVA 4000 and the Command View 2 weeks ago to the "newest" version.
