Hello Goran,

their is no difference in any of the VA7xxx arrays and the way the CommandView s/w communicates with the array.

Their always has to be a minimum of one host connected to the VA7xxx via the SAN in order to be able to manage the array, since the VA7xxx arrays use "in band" management via the fibre (their is no LAN based management port on the VA7xxx arrays for out bound management).

You can of course just install the CommandView s/w on one (via fibre connected) host and run the CommandView GUI remotely by pointing your browser to the htt://server:4096 port and not use the GUI locally on that host.

Each VA7xxx comes with one CommandView license to use, if you run the CommandView GUI remotely from a pc in the network by using the above method, this is still only counting for one and the same license as far as i know.
This remote pc does not need to have CommandView s/w installed, it just needs a browser to point to your server running CV SDM s/w.

HTH

Kris
Dear all,
Is it possible to install Command View SDM for VA 7110 on a host which is not Fibre Channel Host(Management Station), and use it to manage VA7110?

If it is so, can I connect via web interface to (management station)from diferent PC without additional host licence?

I know that this is possible for VA7400 but I`m not sure for VA7110

Regards,
Goran
