Good Day:
We re beginning the setup of a previosuly unconfigured MSA 1000 with two controllers and two MSA SAN Switches 2/8 switches.
One SAN Switch 2/8 sends no unexpected console messages.
The other sends to the console display

"No change"
"Committing configuration...Done"

about every minute.
This happens with this controller in either MSA rear slot, by itself in either MSA rear slot, with one or two controllers in front of the MSA.

MSA Controllers on latest 7.x firmware
SAN switches on latest firmware 3.2.1c.
No fC connections to anything yet. Added 1 FC transmitter to each switch.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Thank you

virtsail

hi leo,

you could clear this by soft reset the san switch.

1) If the IP is already set, attach a network cable to san switch and telnet to it. User ID should be Admin and the password=password. If not, get a serial cable to connect to the switch.

2) Disable the switch:
> switchDisable

3) Reset to factory settings
> configDefault

4) reboot the san switch
> reboot

Perform the same task to the other redundant san switch.

If this answer your question, pls consider assign some points. Thanks!

Rgds

I am seeing exactly the same behaviour.
This did not go away after configdefault and firmware update on the unconfigured switches.
This type of switches does not have the factory reset like newer switches. No explanation in any manual either.
Any help appreciated.
