We have an EVA-6000 and I want to update the SMTP server address after we upgraded our Exchange environment. Upon loading up the site https://<management_server_hostname>:2374/SPoG/ I am presented with a login screen where the 'Ok' button is greyed out and a message stating 'No GUI server could be found. Make sure a GUI server is started and refresh the page'.

The HP MIF service is running on the management server. After reading through the HP Management Integration Framework 1.6 - Administrator Guide, it talks about a Tree Aggregator setting that is not Enabled, but my searches for anything about this setting have yielded nothing of use.

The HP Management Integration Framework 1.7 - Maintenance & Service Guide talks about using xfhostmgr in a situation where Setting up a security environment when access to the Management Integration Frameworksecurity GUI is not available, but reading through the options available for xfhostmgr, I don't think that's the right track to go down.

Does anyone have insight on this?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have had this multiple Times, if the Host OS is not in English.

Then the Security Rights in the Directory are wrong, and the MIF did not come Up.

Try this:

net stop xf

Try to Open "C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\XFROOT" the .cfg Files

Or try:

1. Set the correct IP address of the SMA in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host .
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\
3. Delete XFROOT folder.
4. Go to C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\XF in CLI prompt.
5. Run install.bat C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\XFROOT
6. Start HP Infrastructure Management service.
7. C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\XF\bin\win-32>XfAppMgr register XFSecurity.cfg

Or simply reinstall CommandView (on English OS).

Good evening,

Thank you for the reply. I was hoping this to be my solution, but after completely uninstalling Command View and reinstalling, the results were the same. I did find http://dynamic-datacenter.be/?p=175 which covered wiping out the CV and XF installations, but upon loading the SPoG URL https://localhost:2374/SPoG/ either locally on the server or remotely via https://<hp sms server hostname>:2374/SPoG/, the OK button is greyed out and red text stating "No GUI server could be found. Make sure a GUI server is started and refresh the page."

So, even after this I'm not sure what to try next. As some other posts suggested I did find the permissions on the XFROOT directory were explicitly set, so I changed them back to inherit and replace all. That made no difference. I watched network traffic with Wireshark and Process Monitor to see if the flash applet was making some other network calls that were failing, but nothing obvious stood out.

The application is installed on a server running Windows 2003 R2 w/ SP2. This would be the original HP DL360 G4p that shipped with the EVA at the time of purchase.

With Command View re-installed I can still manage the EVA storage, but am still unable to update the SMTP server address.

Thanks again for the help.
