      <title>HP P6000 Command view - Disk Group Issue</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Greetings,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i have 2 EVA4400 with several enclosures and disk groups configured.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;One of the disk groups has 12 Disks (8x146GB and 4x450GB).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The P6000 command view eva shows the following properties for this disk group:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Summary:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Total: 1785 GB&lt;BR /&gt;Allocated: 990 GB&lt;BR /&gt;Allocation level: 55 %&lt;BR /&gt;Requested: 989 GB&lt;BR /&gt;Oversubscribed: 0 GB&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since there is about 45% of non allocated space, it shoud had more space available that indicated (see attachment)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Available (estimated)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Vraid0: 5 GB&lt;BR /&gt;Vraid1: 0 GB&lt;BR /&gt;Vraid5: 2 GB&lt;BR /&gt;Vraid6: Not available&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What seems to be the problem, any help ?&lt;BR /&gt;I cannot create any VDisk greater than 5 GB( Vraid0) .&lt;BR /&gt;Best regards,&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;From the screenshot you have protection level set to single. With 450GB disks in the group you will have reserved 900GB, two x largest disk. This is reserved for disk failures and is not available to allocate to Vdisks.&amp;nbsp; This is one of the reasons why it is not good to mix capacities in a group. Also the 450GB disks will be hot spots as they will get 3 writes for each write to a 146GB disk.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
