Hi

I have Cache Battery Modules with the following information in controller B:

Operational state: Failed

Charger state: Failed

I will be replacing soon, but my question is: Do I have to power down the all EVA to replace it, or just the controller?

OK, for some really old versions you need to shutdown the controller (only) in question and replace the battery while the controller is off. For other versions you must not shutdown for replacement, otherwise the new module may be detected as bad.

What version is running?

AFAIR the critical versions are XCS v5.03x and XCS v5.100.

Yes, shutdown this controller, replace the battery and power on again.

You may consider to upgrade to XCS 6250

https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T4256-63146
