Hi Torsten,

thank you for your response. We are talking with HP but support leaves much to be desired in this case, because they are sending our petition from one continent to another, and nobody talk really to inform us about the problem.

We don't know the problem cause and I'm trying to collect much information as possible to send HP.

Thank you,

    Víctor.

Hi all,

four days ago we had a problem with an EVA 8400, exactly a Multi disk failure. Since then has not returned to work and diskgroup1 shows this error:

Disk shows this information but always al 0%:

All lights are green and seems OK, but the diskgroup still is degraded and I can't access to it.

What can we do? What may be the cause? We can't lose data because diskgroup1 is under production.

Best regards,

   Víctor.

Your screenshots look like a serious problem with a complete disk enclosure for whatever reason. You should contact HP support and let them help you (analyze the logs etc ...).

Yes, we sent it 2 days ago and now they are asking for fieldservice. Each day one different petition.

But not response about anything. We don't know if we can lose data, if they are going to displace a technician, nothing.

Our support is 24x7 onsite, but seems that HP is reluctant to do something.

EVA is in critical condition. Actions should be taken after considering the logs in details. Even an HPCE may be required onsite to check some special logs. Hence I would suggest escalate the matter within HP support. May be contacting Support center manager or field support manager etc.

Hello,

The array in question appears to have had 2 drives fail in the same RSS (Redundant Storage Set). The EVA Disk Groups are made up of these sets and that is how RAID data is distributed inside the Disk Group. The issue becomes when 2 drives fail in these groups. If the RSS is made of VRAID 1 data, you have an issue when the mirrored pair fails within the set. If that RSS is made of VRAID 5 data, you have a problem when the 2 drives fail within that set.

To get access to your data again you must un-fail the 2 drives with data on them. However, MUST still have the original drives onsite and in the array. There are a few steps that can be taken to try and get that data back.

Unfortunately, I cannot give those steps out on this public forum. The steps involve HPE confidential processes (plus, you can do A LOT of damage with one wrong keystroke). Please contact your regions HPE support line with serial number in hand and explain your Outage / loss of access to data situation.
