Mark,

Which version of ACU are you trying to use? Try version 7.15.19.0 from here: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19658.html

Hopefully this is the issue for you. 7.15.19.0 has just added support for the MSA1500. If there is still no change, can you connect direct to MSA from your blade and access it via ACU?

Ciao,
Greg

Hi all,

I am the process of configuring an MSA 1500 with 2 x 2/16 HP SAN Switches. Everything seems to power up fine in the sequence of switches, array, controllers then servers. The fibre subsystem seems to come up ok as there are no errors on the controller LCD screen.

When I bring up the Array config utility to configure the SAN (without the fibres connected) the interface comes up fine and I can see the local Smart Array controller + local disks on the Bl20p blade with no errors. As soon as I connect the fibre to the switch I get the following error.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
runtime error
Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\
IExplorer.Exe
Abnormal Program Termination

When I do a switchshow on the switch in question it appears that both the MSA and the blade have successfully performed a fibre channel login. I have tried this on numerous machines to ensure if wasn't application based + changed ports on the switch and cables.

Any pointers would be great.

thanks,
Mark
