Hi,
just to make your problem clear to me, your mirror configuration is (was) software based? Or do you use netraid adapter?

robert

I have an LPR with mirrored drives. The first drive had the HP utility partition installed on it but the second did not. I lost the first drive, Now the second will only boot from a floppy. I fixed the boot.ini but it did not help. I think the problem is that the second drive is missing the HP utility partition. If I boot without the floppy I just get a blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner.

Thanks,
Virgil Furlow

Have you made the partition active in Disk Administrator???
Also be sure that the boot.ini on the harddisk referrs to the correct SCSI-ID.
More information on software disk mirroring can be found on http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q120227.

Hope this helps.

Marco.

I have made sure the partition is active. If I make a non bootable partition active I get a missing operating system error. Once I put the bootable c: drive back to active I only get the black flashing cursor. I have tried NT repair on boot files with no luck also.

hi
I already get a problem like this one time, if I remember well ther is a Microsoft document which can solve a problem like this due to a hight defragmentation of the hdd in the boot zone, this may be your problem.
did you check the active partition with FDisk?
bye
marino
