Thanks for both answers.

In fact, I need to be able to control the boot process on my netservers, so tools like vnc or TS can not be used.

The expantion kit solution doesn't really permit me to use the lan, because there is a distance limit between the console switch and the exp kit.

any other idea???
Hi,

I am using an hp console switch (J1474A) to control several netservers (lp1000r).
I need to access this console switch remotely (through the lan) so that I can administer remotely my netservers.

Is there any way to do so???

Hello,
You should install any remote control software on your servers to manage their console remotely. For example you can install VNC software ( http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/ )

If you want to control the boot process of the server, then perhaps the Top Tools Remote Control Card is what your looking for. You can not install it into a console switch, however. You would need one for each server. This would allow you to control control the boot process over the lan.

http://netserver.hp.com/products/highlights_remote_card.asp
