Netserver LHII 2nd Processor

I am working on adding a second processor to a Netserver LHII. This is an unknown piece of hardware. I have never worked in a Netserver before. Any suggestions? Or warnings?

Barry,

Make sure that you have matching HP product numbers on your primary and secondary CPU. Also do you have a VRM for the CPU? Do you already have a NOS installed and if so is it installed for multiprocessors or single?

NOS is NT40. Server hardware setup for multiprocessor, software for single processor.
Product numbers match exactly. Is there something special to the HP utility for the second processor? Or the BIOS?

I would recommend having a good backup. Then install your second cpu/vrm. Then boot to the BIOS flash utility: http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/swindex.pl?p=hpnetserve4476&l=en&c=BIOS

After flashing the BIOS boot to the ECU and save and exit. That should be all you need to do. Both CPU's should show on POST.

Thank you. I will flash the bios and run the util. Then upgrade NT and hope Microsoft hasn't made it more difficult than it needs to be.
