Chris,

The netraid fw and backplane fw should be matching the server bios and NT driver because current levels are how the machine is tested. Also what kind of problems are you having? Do you run consistency checks on a weekly basis?

The FW for the embedded NetRaid I see should be D.03.03
PCA backplane fw B.01.26
Bios for the server 4.06.43PL
Mraidnt.sys modified date should be 11/3/00

http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50448.html

Ciao,
Greg

Does the Driver in WinNT 4.0 and the Firmware need to match? Is it best if it does?

We Upgraded the firmware last weekend and now Exchange is having problems.

I have an LH3 with embedded NetRAID controller.
BIOS B.01.04
Firmware D.02.05
mraidnt.sys 2.15

Thanks,
Chris
Chris,

Consistency checks are explained in the NetRaid Guide at: http://netserver.hp.com/docs/download.asp?file=ig_netr1m2m01.pdf

Install the latest NetRaid Assistant Utility MS Windows 95
MS Windows 98
MS Windows NT 4.0 HP NetRAID Series Software for NT/Win2000/Win95/Win98 from:
http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix51919.html

and then double check for this news flash for this condition.

http://netserver.hp.com/support/hot_news/lpn10555.asp

You want to run consistency checks to keep your array healthy. It checks the parity of your stripe and should also be remapping bad blocks if any hdd's have any media errors.

Ciao,
Greg
