topic LH3 Boot Order in Netservers

Senario:
LH3r with standard netraid card, additional raid cage added, now using channel A&B to control to arrays configuered to standard raid 5. Internal se scsi channel taken up with channel b array so seperate system disk with NT4.0 running off PCi adaptec 2940 card. Standard NT install with detection of CD and 2940 by nt, netraid controlled added as additional device.
Problem:
Goes through boot up sequence but stops after detecting 2 logical drives ( trying to find OS?) via netraid. To get system disk to boot the drives in the arrays have to be pulled, replaced after os up and running, then disks are controlled and made active using NT netraid assistant.
messy. HP advise that the boot sequence is dictated by the device order detected /specified during NT install ?? there must be away to change the boot order via bios or scsi utilities ?? probably simple but tearing hair out ( whats left) can anyone help.

Mark,

On the LH 3,4 you can't use SCSI B and SE SCSI so if you have any device on SE SCSI you need to have a seperate card. Did you set SCSI B to YES for NetRaid on the main screen of the BIOS. Then in Configuration ->Boot Device Ordering -> Hard Drive Priority have your netraid set as the top priority device.

Ciao,
Greg
