Nope, it will just take some time for the data to move across the new array. Probably an hour or so.

Hello,

We've got an LH3 with 3 x 9G in a Raid 5 array - single 18G logical drive partitioned as NT4 system (2G) and Data (16G). We want to add another 2 x 9G to add capacity to the logical drive. Virtual Sizing was not enabled when the array was 1st configured some time ago.
Can we add capacity without starting again? We don't mind a re-boot or two or an extra drive letter.

Thanks
David

Yes, you can still add capacity, it will require a reboot, due to virtual sizing being disabled. The drives should add to the array without a problem. You will have to give the new space a drive letter and format it is all.

Thanks Theo,

Just to make sure I get it right:-)
Adding drives to the array won't have any effect on existing data in that array will it?

Regards
David
