I want to make a remote turn off and turn on with a Netserver LP1000r and LP2000r. It is possible without an additional card?
I Have a Vectra VL420 with TopTools agents and I can make a remote turn off with TopTools but I can't turn on the machine. How I can do it?

Juan,

Turning on the machine requires physical access to the power switch. If there isn't any power, then there can't be a process that is running that will "boot" the system.

There might be products you can purchase that can perform the function, but it has to be independent of the server - with it's own power source.

live free or die
harry

The integrated NIC(s) in these Netservers support WOL (Wake On LAN) and AOL2 (Alert on LAN). These features allow a server to be remotely powered up & down.
You need to enable this option in the F2 System BIOS, and install the AOL2 client software.

Sorry, there is one more piece of software needed to get this to work, "Magic Packets".
Note: This is NOT a Hewlett-Packard endorsement of this 3rd party software.
