Can someone provide me with the contents of the BIOS for an LH Plus. I believe my BIOS is corrupt because my machine won't boot. This prevents me from using the update. Any help will be appreciated.

Bob

Thanks Sanjay,

As I said I can't use this update program because my machine won't boot at all to be able to run that program. What I am after is the machine code from the BIOS itself. Thanks for the help though!

Bob

There is a special procedure for recovering bios on older netservers. First, you have to prepare bootable bios update floppy disk.
On system board there is a set of switches. One of the swithes (I think it is second, "boot block disable") is for bios recovery. You have to set this switch in off position and power on your server with floppy disk in floppy device. When this is finished power off server and set switch back to on position.

Thanks Enes,

Unfortunately that does not work. I don't get any activity out of the floppy drive on power up so I think the system board may be dead. By the way I don't hear any beeps on power up either. Thanks again.

Bob

Have you tried clearing the cmos on the system? With the system off, try flipping switch 3 to on, boot the system, once it completes post, turn the system off, swtich the swtich back to off, at this point you will need to boot to the ECU utility and do a save and exit. If you do not have the ECU that matches the BIOS installed on the system, try updating the BIOS to the latest, and then boot to the latest ECU and do a save and exit.

Thanks Theo,

That didn't work either unfortunately. I still think the system board is dead because at no time do I get any activity from the floppy and I never get any beeps to warn me that there are any troubles. I will keep trying things but I think I may be out of solutions.

Bob
