I have an LH Pro.
There is a NetRAID card, with 2 9g drives attached, mirrored.

One of the SCSI connectors on the motherboard is attached to the HP internal SCSI CD-ROM drive.

Is it at all possible to boot from this CD-ROM drive?

I have tried booting from the drive with the Navigator CD, the Win2k Server CD, and a bootable CD-ROM created by the IDR module in BackupExec. In every case the system boots from the HDD.

I have tried disabling the NetRAID BIOS; no success there.

The 2 Adaptec SCSI notices at boot give no indication that I can access them before the NetRAID card loads.

As I can't get the Navigator CD to boot I haven't been able to access the ECU.

Help?

You would need to enable the BIOS on the SCSI controller the CD-ROM is connected to inorder to make it bootable. To change this setting, you will need to boot to the ECU to change this. You can download the latest BIOS and ECU from here:

http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50454.html

Just download the exe file and run them to make a bootable floppy.
