hi all,

I have recently acquired NetServer LH Pro server. I have deleted the active primary partition and tried after that to delete the extended BUT was unsuccessful even though there were now logical partitions. another thing is that the box started beeping non-stop. the beeps were kind of long (approximately 1 sec in length). does any one know why this is happening?
mohammed,
You have a failed hdd in a Raid Set most likely. Are you trying to wipe this server clean for a fresh install? If so then all you need to do is boot into Ctrl-M and clear the config and create a new Raid which will initialize all hdds, erase all data/partitions and put all of your hard drives into an online state and ready for a fresh NOS install.

Now would also be a good time to make sure you have the current BIOS and FW levels as well as drivers for whatever NOS you are installing. The files are here for the LH Pro: http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50454.html

I'm not sure what NetRaid controller you have but my guess would be a classic NetRaid which has 3 internal and 2 external connections. You can grab the fw for NetRaid here: http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix62471.html

Ciao,
Greg
