    <description>we have an LC2000 server to install with 2000 server, but when the HP DDS4 tape drive is connected to the on board scsi the machine blue screens even in safe mode, nothing else is connected to on board scsi as disk are on a netraid controller, dont even get a chance to load drivers.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyone got any ideas?</description>

      <description>Paul,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What LC2000 model do you have?  It can have an integrated U2 or U3 symbios controller.  Also what BSOD are you getting?  Finally if you are able to boot to the OS without the tape drive you can install the HP driver for the SCSI controller without the tape drive cabled to the server.       <description>just to update:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tried both channels.&lt;BR /&gt;tried installing drivers with drive not attached.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;neither work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;server is a U3&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;bsod is a scsiport.sys always.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;will try updating drivers as suggested.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cheers</description>

      <description>oops almost forgot if i disable the removeable storage service ity does boot and work, will this still work then though with arcserver?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>YES. You need to disable the Windows 2000 RSM (Removable Storage Manager) service. This appears in the 2000 services as "Removable Storage". STOP the service, and set it to Manual (default is Automatic) so that it will not start up again on a reboot.&lt;BR /&gt;When running any backup software such as Arcserve (or Backup Exec, Tapeware, etc) in 2000, you want to disable RSM.</description>
