LPR bios re-flash problem- problem with file sdredit.exe

We have a problem with some of the green led's on the front panel not working. I have been advised to power down the server disconnect the power cable for a couple of minutes and restart- this did not work.

Secondly to reflash the bios ( although it already is the latest version 4.06.35 pr ) because sometimes the front panel's firmware gets out of step with the system bios.

I created the diskette and booted the server- it goes into the flash screen and when i ask it to reflash it says there is a problem with the file SDREDIT.EXE.

Has anybody come across this before?

try reflashing the mmc firmware... this has worked for me in the past...

Yes. You probably have a TopTools Remote Controll Card in the server???

1. Boot from Navigator CD, Clean hardware eventlog first.

2. Power down disconnect everything connected to COM ports, remove PCI cards and power cord for 10 minutes (not less) (capacitor needs to discharge)

3. Boot from BIOS floppy. Flash then CLear CMOS.- Then press escape until you have left the BIOS, SAVING the changes.

Watch flash closely. If any error manually flash with instruction below:

Solution B:

1. disconnect power chord for 1 minute.

2. Boot from an MS-DOS boot floppy.

3. Insert the BIOS update floppy, manually run

a)flashmmc lprra_us.bin (interactive screen)

b)sdredit -w -f list_lpr.sdr (no screen wait for DOS prompt.)

This cures all I know.
