topic LC3 Processor Upgrade in Netservers

I have a LC3 PII/450, D7030T, (single cpu) that I'd like to upgrade to dual PIII/550 (D8583A), but without buying the $600 processor kits. Are there any caveats to be aware of, besides the need for a cpu fan and an aditional vrm, such as processor model? And do I want slot1 or slot2?

ADVthxANCE

I've seen the $600 kits, I was hoping for something a bit less expensive, since the CPUs are typically $60 or so.
